Cancellation & Refunds

How cancellations, deposits, and refunds work for our engagements.

Last updated — 2026

1. Overview

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds are handled for services provided by Aleno Studio. The specific terms of any engagement are set out in your signed proposal or agreement, which takes precedence where it differs from this page.

2. Deposits

Most projects begin with an upfront deposit that reserves your slot and covers initial discovery and planning. Because this work starts immediately, deposits are generally non-refundable once the engagement has begun.

3. Cancelling a project

You may cancel a project at any time by written notice. You will be billed for all work completed up to the cancellation date, including any third-party costs already committed on your behalf. Any prepaid amount beyond that is credited or refunded, less the non-refundable deposit.

4. Consultations

Free consultations can be rescheduled or cancelled at no cost — we simply ask for reasonable notice so the slot can be offered to someone else.

5. Retainers & subscriptions

Monthly retainers and subscription services can be cancelled with 30 days' written notice. The current period remains payable, and no partial refunds are issued for time already elapsed in that period.

6. Refunds

Where a refund is due under this policy, it is issued to the original payment method within a reasonable period after the amount is confirmed. Completed deliverables, custom work, and third-party fees are non-refundable.

7. Cancellation by us

In rare cases we may end an engagement — for example, non-payment or a breakdown in the working relationship. If we do, you are billed only for work completed to that point, and any unused prepaid balance is returned.

8. How to cancel

To cancel or request a refund, email us at alenostudio@gmail.com with your project or invoice reference. We will confirm the details and next steps in writing.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date below reflects the latest revision.
